Shreveport City Councilman Ron Webb has stirred quite the controversy after he publicly stated he did not want to give $25-thousand dollars to the Robinson Film Center because… and this is a direct quote, “it bothers me that they support gay and lesbian rights.”

I THINK HE IS A STUPID IDIOT AND NEEDS TO QUIT LIVING IN PAST AND START LIVING IN 21st CENTURY. HE IS NOT GOING TO SUPPORT THE FILM CENTER BECAUSE THE LET THE GAY AND LESBIAN GROUPS USE SUCH A FINE FACILITY. GUESS HE IS ONE OF THOSE HOLY ROLLERS THAT THINKS GAY AND LESBIANS ARE GOING TO HELL BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY BELIVE AND LIVE THEIR LIFE.

We have a daughter who has the characteristics of gender nonconformity and same-sex attraction. She identifies herself as “lesbian”, but I do not use that terminology myself. I love her the same as our other eight children. As I said on the gmay blog amongst those ranting about “sin”, Ron Webb did not say that he was against the sins of anybody. He said that he was against the “rights” of the gay and lesbian. For an elected public official to say that he is against the rights of citizens is an outrage.
William Hill you are the classic example of someone who is just as bad as Mr.Webb. In fact I think you maybe worse for the simple reason of how you refer to your daughter. She does not have an illness and is not sick she is a LESBIAN. Why do you use the other terminology when you refer to your daughter COME OUT OF DENIAL and show you daughter some respect and love. She is a LESBIAN and you can show here you love her by respecting her wishes an using that word not the words you use. You are treating her different than your other children no matter what you might think you are treating her as an outcast by using the terminology that you use. I pray you see light soon and start accepting her as what she is a LESBIAN.
Troy, you are making a big deal out of an old man being reluctant to do any name-calling toward his own beloved daughter, with a word that he does not fully understand.

You would also see that you have plenty of enemies in this territory without trying to make an enemy out of me.
