The First 48

I’ve now been smoke-free for 53-hours. It’s been two very very long days, but I’m pretty proud of myself for sticking to this whole quitting thing.
I still want a cigarette so badly it hurts… literally. Thomas has made it his lot in life to slap the heck out of my arm every time I have a craving. I read where cravings last 3-5 minutes… that’s about how long the stings from Thomas’ girl slaps last (yes, I said girl slaps).
Not sure if I’ll still be smoke-free tomorrow, but if I have my way… I will. I’m pretty determined to kick this habit and lead a healthier life.
Just watch… I’ll probably get run over by a bus on my way home tonight. LOL.
chris i may have to lean on you myself for support. think thomas can slap my arm, too? after the recent incident with out pal, i am trying my best to joing the non-smoking club.
I have been there, Chris, and I know that it hurts. I was unsuccessful many times, and I thought that I was hopelessly addicted, but I have been tobacco-free for almost 20 years now. I used nicotine gum for the first full year, and then I switched to Wrigley Spearmint with no problem. I know you can do it because I did it and I am a weak person with little will-power.
I saw this webpage and just wanted to contact ya- was watching snapped on the oxygen channel last night & saw next weeks preview. Could’ve sworn it was you on there- is it a shreveport case? Youre prob. sworn to secrecy until it airs. Just curious!! Good luck with the quitting- my grandmother did it in the 80’s when nicorrette was awful and she managed. She smoked a pack & a half a day. You can do it!
So, how did you do last night? Hope you are staying strong!!
