I Can’t Wait!

This weekend, my sister Julie and twin brother Greg will be coming to Shreveport to hang out with me.  I don’t think I’ve been this excited since I found out Kellog’s made low-fat Pop Tarts.

Julie and her friend are driving in from Missouri and Greg will be flying in from NYC.  They both arrive Friday [...]

I have no idea how they got my numbers, but today… I received what I swear is the millionth phone call from some company wanting to extend the warrantly on my vehicle.  My truck just turned a year old this month.
I’ve continually told them to remove my numbers from their system… but it’s not working.
The last [...]

Here’s Your Sign

You all know it doesn’t take much to confuse me, but this sign posted at the Shreveport Police Department really has me baffled!
It says “No Soliciting”… but it’s crossed out.  If a place doesn’t allow smoking… the sign usually just has a picture of a cigarette crossed out.Â
So… are we… or aren’t we… allowed to solicit?
Someone [...]

I spent this weekend helping my friend Drew put in hardwood floors. Okay.. maybe I watched a little more than helped, but it was still hard work!  My legs feel like they’ve been run over by a Mack truck.
Drew’s a whiz when it comes to measurements, cutting and figuring out difficult tasks.  I wish I [...]

There’s no such thing as a free lunch or a free Macbook!!!!
I can’t believe some of the things I actually fall for in life.
I was on Facebook a few weeks ago and this ad for a “Free Green Macbook” kept staring me in the face.  After several minutes of fighting the urge… I finally gave [...]

A Crying Shame

Â
Â
Â
Â
Tonight, I’m sickened by the alleged acts of my fellow human beings.
73-year old Ida Calome of Homer is left homeless thanks to a man police say torched her house to cover up a crime.
Calome, who has no insurance, lost nearly everything she owned in Tuesday’s blaze.  The only things she has left are the clothes on her back and the [...]

Look Ma, No Legs!

Â
Â
Â
This evening, I was standing on the corner outside the station smoking a cigarette when a little boy came up to me and proudly showed me a long slimey thing in his hands.  I thought he was saying “earthworm,” but it looked more like a baby snake to me.Â
Being my usual self… I mumbled how cool [...]

Who’s Terrorizing Who?

Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Take a good look at these police officers.  They were shot and killed protecting and serving the citizens of Oakland, California… yet their killer is being called the victim.  What the hell???
I was so upset  and sickened when I read about the rally held in support of the fugitive parolee who killed two of the [...]

I know times are tough right now, but geez.
This is a picture of photographer Thomas LaValley pilfering through a friend’s car looking for change.
It appears Thomas is suffering from a huge craving for a chocolate muffin out of the vending machine.  This AFTER he ate a blueberry muffin!Â
Now he’s standing by my desk eating some [...]

Fishin’ For Life!

Â
Â
Â
I’ll be the first to admit, I hate to fish, but I do love to help those in need and if doing a little fishing means helping a firefighter.. sign me up!
Shreveport Firefighters are holding a “Tommy Adams Bass Tournament” Arpil 10th to raise money for the chief and his family.
Adams fell off a truck [...]
