Ties That Bind

Tonight, I covered the most heart-breaking story ever.Â
Early Christmas morning, a mother and her twin sons were killed when authorities say an ambulance pulled out in front of their vehicle.
I can’t help but take this story personally.  There’s a bond between twins I think only a twin can understand.  If anything should ever happen to [...]

Home For The Holidays

It’s been a short, but fun trip home to Missouri.  I’m now in the airport waiting for my flight. I got here two and a half hours early because my brother Greg (pictured with me above) had to fly out at 6 a.m. this morning.  I always hate good-byes.  It’s strange, but when you go [...]

Changing My Weighs

This is a stupid pic I took of myself at the gym the other day.  I took it to serve as a reminder of my “New Year… New Me” plan. Â
In 2009, I intend to not worry so much about numbers.  For some reason, I’m obsessed with numbers.  I weigh every single day and take [...]

Blog Of An Angry TV Reporter

Â
I’ve been called a lot of things in my lifetime, but I’ll be damned if I sit back and let someone call me a racist!Â
It has come to my attention that during last night’s NAACP/Justice Department meeting, a few people said the local media was being bias by using the word “allegedly” when reporting about [...]

Is Justice Color Blind?

The U.S. Justice Department held a meeting in Shreveport to discuss recent allegations of racial violence.Â
A black man claims he was brutally attacked by a white man for wearing an Obama shirt.  A 25-year old east Texas man was arrested and charged with 2nd degree battery.  He has NOT been charged with a hate crime, [...]

Happy Birthmas!

According to my daily calendar at home, “Birthmas” is when you had the misfortune to be born on December 25th, thereby combining your two biggest gift-receiving days of the year into one.  And if you think you’re going to get two presents from everyone… you’re sadly mistaken. Â
Just ask KTBS photographer and internet guru Casey [...]

Two Fins Down

I spent all day anxiously awaiting a new movie on the SciFi channel and now I’m just pissed.   “Sharks In Venice” starring Stephen Baldwin looked like a pretty good flick based on the trailers, but it turned out to be a shipwreck.  I thought the movie would actually be about sharks attacking people in [...]

Kid Free Eats

Â
I’ll never understand it.  People can’t smoke in restaurants because it annoys other patrons, but nobody ever complains about loud obnoxious kids.  I think second-hand noise is just as irritating (if not as unhealthy) as second-hand smoke.
Thomas and I just ate at my favorite place, but all we could hear was some child screaming at [...]

Snola

My best friend Glenn in New Orleans sent me this picture of the snow that fell this morning.Â
Snow in New Orleans… what a sight!!!!
I’ll admit… when I lived in Missouri, I couldn’t stand the snow.  Mainly because it was almost always accompained by ice.  It was impossible to get around.  Even going to get the [...]

Outraged!

This man says he was brutally beaten by two white men for wearing an Obama t-shirt.
Kaylon Johnson says he was walking out of a gas station Saturday night when the men started yelling racial slurs.  Soon after, the first punch was thrown.  He suffered a broken nose and a fractured eye socket.
I can’t help but [...]
