Tonight, while listening to the police and fire scanners… I heard a call go out about a 16-year old girl needing help.
The dispatcher told firefighters the girl was having trouble breathing because she couldn’t get a ring off her finger.Â
SHE HAD A RING STUCK ON HER FINGER…. SO SHE CALLS THE FIRE DEPARTMENT????
What the hell? [...]
I swear I live in one of the most “thankless” cities in America!Â
Customer service in Shreveport can down right suck… plain and simple! Â
I’m sorry if this offends people, but I’m so sick and tired of going to a drive-thru and being treated like a pest rather than a paying customer. Â
Last week, I went to [...]
I figured since I’m in your living room most every night… I’d give you a glimpse of mine.
As you can see, I really don’t have much style. I have a wide variety of tastes when it comes to decorating (if that’s what you want to call it).
I have an exit sign from the old Cinema [...]
Â
Imagine calling 911 for an emergency and you have a dispatcher tell you there’s no officers to help you.
No, it’s not that bad… but according to the Shreveport Police Officers Association there are a lot less officers patrolling the streets thanks to low pay and even lower morale.
The S.P.O.A. says eighty officers have left the [...]
“When you’re alone
And life is making you lonely,
You can always go downtown.”
These song lyrics may be true for Patula Clark, but it doesn’t exactly seem to be the case for some in Shreveport.
Today, city council members voted in favor of a 56-point best practices plan to enhance security downtown.
The plan includes formally trained security guards and more [...]
My friend and co-worker Jody Lowery recently posted a blog about nice guys finishing last.Â
She doesn’t think they do and neither do I.
Take for instance… oh I don’t know… ME!
I’m always first. Â
First to the shower. First to the coffee. First to the remote. First one home.Â
You’d think I’d be excited about this, but I’m not.
The only reason [...]
I admit it.. I abuse the whole “LOL” thing when chatting on-line.
Even though I type those three little letters.. it doesn’t necessarily mean I’m really laughing out loud. In fact, nine out of ten times, I’m probably not even cracking a smile.
LOL is a cop out. I use it to be polite.Â
My friend Drew says [...]
Whew!! I made it through my first week of work after surgery.Â
Oh okay… I kind of left early most of the days, but I had no choice.  I never would have imagined how much one uses his shoulder on a daily basis. The pain can be unbearable.
This is a picture of my trainer Jon Hobson.Â
He’s been [...]
I admit it. Â I was the biggest mama’s boy you could ever imagine, but who could blame me… she was the best mom in the world.
My mom and I shared a little joke most of my life. Â When I was a kid, I looked at her and said, “you’re the best mom I ever had.” [...]
Isn’t it amazing how easy it can be to find long lost friends? Â Just a few weeks ago, I got an e-mail from my friend Melissa. Â She said she googled me and found out where I was living and working. Â This is a picture of Melissa and me when we were in college. Â We had [...]
