PerPLEXed?

Give me an hour in the gym and I swear I can solve the world’s problems. Nothing helps clear my head more than putting in my earphones and working out. I come up with a lot of story and blog ideas when I’m sweating.  It’s kind of cool.   I workout at the PLEX in Bossier City.  Owner [...]

Webster Wound-Up!

Okay, I’m going to try to keep this short and sweet, but it’s going to be hard because I could go on and on and on about Webster Parish authorities all day.
These guys (and gals) are by far some of my most favorite law enforcement officers in Louisiana.
Sheriff Gary Sexton, Chief deputy Bobby Igo, Shawn [...]

Dial “D” For Drama

Part of my job includes listening to police/fire scanners.
BE WARNED: Almost every day we hear someone’s cell phone conversation bleeding through the radio.
Today, some woman was quite angry with her husband because she works two jobs, takes care of two kids and he doesn’t do anything “but wake up in whatever mood he feels like waking up [...]

Above The Law?

Is anyone really above the law or are we just sitting beside it waiting for it to hit?
There’s been a lot of recent concerns raised due to the trial of two judges, arrests of several TV personalities, investigations of police officers and accusations against teachers and coaches.Â
I’ve told a lot of my friends that the difference [...]

Just Admit It…

Â
His shirt reads “Want Woman!”, but what he got was life behind bars plus 15-years.
Robert Cole pleaded guilty to killing his wife and her unborn baby.Â
The Bossier District Attorney also wanted Cole to just admit (not plead guilty) to killing Christopher Michael Pierce, but Cole refused.
The D.A. wanted this so Pierce’s family could finally have [...]

And You Think Your Job Stinks…

Caddo Animal Control agents, Shreveport firefighters, police officers, news reporters and photographers found out the hard way just had badly their jobs can stink.
On Friday… authorities responded to a house with dozens of cats inside it.  The woman living there was given a ticket for animal cruelty.
Authorities say each cat was in a kennel and the kennels [...]

Oh My (Land)Lord!

Â
Talk about a landlady who means business.Â
This property manager helped police nab a burglary suspect by chasing her down and tackling her in the middle of the street.
The suspect and her two roommates are accused of breaking into their neighbor’s house and stealing just about every thing they could get their grubby little hands on.Â
This [...]

Gotta Beef?

I’ve got a beef with people who have a beef with cops!Â
I got a call the other day (one of many it seems) from someone who wanted me to rush out the door and do a story on an officer for “police brutality.”Â
I asked the caller if she had filed a complaint with the department. [...]

I Shall Remain Nameless

I asked what you wanted me to blog about and now I’m going to deliver.
Faithful reader “nameless” wanted to know if the violence in Shreveport gives me pause and if I would live in the country if I could.
Nameless, this is for you.
The violence in Shreveport gives me a lot of pause.  I think it’s [...]

All Blogged Out…

I’m confused.Â
I write about things in the news and nobody seems to comment.Â
I write about ice-cold water and the price of pop-tarts and I’m flooded with comments.
What do you want to read about?Â
I’m leaving this up to you.  Give me a topic and I’ll give you my opinion.Â
Tell me what types of blogs you like [...]
